Grant MacDermottGrant MacDermott

Grant is a New York based monologue coach, actor, and playwright. He is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where he received his BFA in Acting. After graduating, he returned to Emerson College to help teach their Summer Arts Academy for two years. He then made his home in Boston where he acted in over twenty productions, including Pulitzer Prize Nominee Christopher Shinn's American Premiere of “Now or Later” at the Huntington Theater, directed by Michael Wilson. He then moved to New York to further pursue his career as an actor and coach. He is a member of both SAG-AFTRA and AEA. He is currently understudying Off-Broadway.

Grant has worked for years as a professional monologue coach, both in contemporary and classical texts. He also had the wonderful opportunity to help co-found My College Audition, a one on one coaching service for high school performers looking to audition for and ultimately attend top collegiate and university performing arts programs. My College Audition students have been accepted to many of the top programs including: New York University, Syracuse University, Emerson College, Ithaca College, Boston University, Fordham University, University of Michigan and many more.

His truthful style and knowledge of myriad methods connects actors to the text and to themselves by unlocking all their potential through breath, voice, image, and action, to create a truer, deeper, more resonant performance.
